cake topper

this is a wedding cake topper I made

it is made of an old aluminum foil pie plate, and some foam balls all covered in magic sculpt epoxy clay

the handrail is done

this is a shot of the base coat that I applied last week and let set for a couple of days.
I went back on Sat the 12th and finished up the post and rails with two glazes, one a purplish brown color and the second a blue-green black, applied liberally and blotted off with rags to get the effect I was looking for. I offered to come back and gray it a bit to match the surrounding trees but my parents said they were happy with the look.
not sure yet if we are going to paint the rocks on the risers of the steps they look pretty good natural, and blend in quite well with the existing rocks.

casting call

Couple of weeks ago I got a call from an older lady wanting some copies of a primitive hand carved wall hanging. not having done something quite this large I severely underestimated materials, but now have a little better idea how much material these things take and how much they cost.

the one in the center is the original, and the customer was very happy.

Busy, busy, busy

well it's been a few busy weeks. Working at the Bear Hotel, painting windows, and some double sided signage.

The Bigfoot mystery build is just about done and ready for the public to solve the mystery. The biker bears (the Wild Bunch) are placed in their spots downtown with the murals and some miscellaneous props, bigfoot's home is almost ready to be furnished and the twinkie enhancement lab is just about done, and the miners shaft is looking way cool, quite the bit of eye candy for the folks and visitors of Grants Pass.

I got done last Friday with the crates for the Wildlife Images bus stops, and tues to fri helped out on the grizzly bears.
There are also two bears mounted to the outside of the trolley and one sitting inside eating an apple. Look for the trolley all summer through September.
